PocketFinancial Information Session

PocketFinancial  will be hosting a virtual info session for members on March 11 @ 1pm MST. Registration is required. (Deadline to register is end of day March 2).

What
PocketFinancial is a purpose-driven Canadian fintech company focused on enhancing financial literacy and confidence for students. Using AI-driven tools, it helps students with budgeting, spending, and financial wellness. They are in the final stages of an agreement with Alberta Student Aid, and we recommended ASAPA members have free access to this platform so we can see what students are using. The session will offer:

• Short demo of PocketFinancial (10–15 mins)
• How it supports student success by reducing financial stress and improving retention
•  Overview of our ongoing discussions with banks around a preloaded student living-allowance card, designed to help students manage funds responsibly
• What implementation looks like (low-lift, no operational burden on registrars)
•  Q&A

Financial stress is a major driver of student withdrawals and administrative challenges
PocketFinancial complements existing financial aid and student services without changing current systems. This is an opportunity for ASAPA members to see and help shape an emerging student success tool.
